Operational Amplifier (no power pins)

Schematic symbol

Op-amp: amplifies the difference between its + (non-inverting) and − (inverting) inputs by a huge amount. With resistors feeding the output back to the − input, it becomes an amplifier with a precise gain; with no feedback, it works as a comparator. This symbol hides the power pins, but the real chip (e.g. LM358) still needs them connected.
