Hex non-inverting buffer and level shifter: Six buffers whose outputs swing between GND and VCC (pin 1), while the inputs and logic run from VDD (pin 16). VCC can be anything from 3 V up to VDD, so it converts 3–18 V CMOS down to TTL or lower-voltage logic levels. Pin 13 is not connected. Largely replaced by the CD4050, which needs only one supply.
