Fuse
Layout symbol
Protects a circuit by melting and breaking the connection if the current goes above its rating, for example during a short circuit. Place it right after the power input and pick a rating a bit above the normal current. A blown fuse must be replaced, except resettable (PTC) fuses, which recover after cooling down.
