LM741
Schematic symbol
The classic general-purpose op-amp, found in countless textbooks and beginner projects. It runs from a split supply of about ±5 to ±18 V; its inputs and output stay a couple of volts away from the supply rails, so it's a poor fit for 5 V circuits. Pins 1 and 5 can take a 10 kΩ trim pot to null the input offset.
