Stepper Motor

Layout symbol

Motor that moves in precise steps, so you can control its position without a sensor. A unipolar stepper has center-tapped coils (5 or 6 wires), and each coil half is switched on in turn, which a simple transistor array like the ULN2003 can do; the common 28BYJ-48 is this type. It can't be driven directly from a microcontroller pin.
