Quad bilateral analog switch: Four switches that pass analog or digital signals in either direction between Y and Z. A high on a switch's E input turns it on. Runs on 3–18 V, and the on-resistance falls as the supply rises, to about 125 Ω at 15 V. Signals must stay between GND and VCC. An improved CD4016 with the same pinout, and the usual choice for new circuits.
