Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Green - Top view

Layout symbol

Lights up when current flows from the anode (+, longer leg) to the cathode (−, shorter leg, flat edge); it stays dark if placed backwards. Always needs a series resistor to limit the current, typically to 5–20 mA. A green LED drops about 2–3 V, depending on the shade. Learn more about LEDs
