Stepper Motor (Bipolar)

Layout symbol

Motor that moves in precise steps (often 200 per turn), so you can control its position without a sensor. A bipolar stepper has two coils and four wires, and the current in each coil must be reversed, so it needs a driver such as the A4988, DRV8825 or L298N. It can't be driven directly from a microcontroller pin.
