Makes a beeping sound. An active buzzer has a built-in oscillator and beeps as soon as it gets DC voltage; a passive buzzer needs an oscillating signal, e.g. from a 555 or Arduino's tone(), and can play different pitches. Often has a marked + leg that goes toward the positive side.
