Transistor BJT (NPN)
Schematic symbol
Transistor used as an electronic switch or amplifier: a small current into the base (B) lets a much larger current flow from collector (C) to emitter (E). As a switch, connect the emitter to ground and the load between the positive supply and the collector. Always drive the base through a resistor, typically 1–10 kΩ from a microcontroller pin.
