SR-latch (NOR-based)

Schematic symbol

The simplest memory circuit, built from two cross-coupled NOR gates. A high pulse on S (set) makes Q high, a high pulse on R (reset) makes Q low, and with both low it remembers its last state. Avoid having S and R high at the same time, since that makes both outputs low. Learn more about the SR latch
