8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register: On each rising edge of CP, the bits move one step along Q0–Q7 and a new bit enters at Q0. The new bit is DSA AND DSB, so tie one of them high and use the other as data. A low on MR clears all outputs. The outputs have no latch, so they ripple while shifting. Same pinout as the 74LS164.
