Tiny Wi-Fi module with an ESP8266 chip, used either as a Wi-Fi add-on for an Arduino (through AT commands over serial) or programmed on its own. It runs on 3.3 V only, its pins are not 5 V tolerant, and it can draw peaks of a few hundred mA, so it needs a solid 3.3 V supply. CH_PD (EN) must be high for it to run.
