Slider Potentiometer short - topview
Layout symbol
Small slider potentiometer, shown from the top: an adjustable resistor you set by sliding a knob. The full resistance sits between the two outer pins, and the middle pin (the wiper) moves along it as you slide. Connect all three as a voltage divider to get an adjustable voltage, for example into an Arduino analog input, or use the wiper and one outer pin as a variable resistor.
