Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Yellow

Layout symbol

Lights up when current flows from the anode (+, longer leg) to the cathode (−, shorter leg, flat edge); it stays dark if placed backwards. Always needs a series resistor to limit the current, typically to 5–20 mA. A yellow LED drops about 2 V. Learn more about LEDs
