Transistor-Darlington-PNP

Layout symbol

Two transistors combined in one (e.g. TIP125), working like a PNP with a very high current gain. Used as a high-side switch: emitter to the positive supply, load between collector and ground, turned on by pulling the base low through a resistor. It drops more voltage when on (about 1–2 V) than a single transistor.
